Therapy Specialties

Anxiety, depression, relationship stress, difficult family dynamics, career and life changes (including difficulty launching), and postpartum depression and anxiety

I will help you understand the source of your concerns in order to make lasting changes.

I believe that symptoms like depression and anxiety typically develop from our attempts to adapt to early life experiences. Together, we will explore how you got to where you are today, discover patterns, find ways of healing emotional wounds, and appreciate and build your strengths.

I will create a supportive space for you to explore and express your true thoughts and feelings. I will ask you questions and provide feedback in order to increase your self-awareness and resolve symptoms. Together, we will help you establish new ways of getting your needs met and relating to others. My theoretical orientation is trauma-informed, insight-oriented and based in attachment theory. However, I will utilize a variety of treatment approaches to help you meet your goals.

I enjoy working with clients of diverse backgrounds who present with a range of concerns (ages 18 and up). Much of my experience has been in treating mood disorders, including postpartum depression and anxiety. In addition to providing therapy I enjoy providing clinical supervision to other therapists. I currently supervise the Johns Hopkins Bayview Adult Mood Disorders Clinic and Perinatal Mood Disorders Clinic, which I founded after recognizing the need for specialized mental health services for pregnant and postpartum moms.
